A cake with frosting looks delicious as it sits whole on a kitchen table. Everyone wants a piece of it. But no one saw the beating it took to become a whole cake.

The cake was made of bitter ingredients and whipped unmercifully, creating a smooth batter that would soon be placed in a hot oven!

Now, let’s compare this process to our lives. We see the “finished” product of others, but do not know what they went through to get to where they are. And get this…after the cake takes its form, it will soon be cut! Many people you see that look complete are getting cut, hurt and stomped on everyday.

You see, the suffering doesn’t stop when we’re “done.” It will only stop when we hear the Master say, “Well Done.” It may look glamorous from afar, but trust that what many of us endure is no cake walk.

Don’t be envious of anyone, and never compare where you are with where they are. You, too, will one day walk in the full expression of your calling. Understand that what you are going through now is preparing you for what many of us are experiencing now. Be encouraged! #ReJOYCE

  2. Haleilujah! Very well said. We all have our crosses to bear. It is not easy, but so worth it. We can’t compare our journey with another’s. Doing so becomes a distraction. We have to keep our eyes on the prize of the high calling of Jesus Christ in order to be victorious and win the race that is set before us. I can applaud my brother and sister along the way, but, my goal is to be pleasing to the Lord. I can’t accomplish this if I await the approval of man. To God be the glory!
