But I know the LORD will help those they persecute; he will give justice to the poor. -Psalm 140:12

Today marks 50 years since the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tuesday, April 3, I joined thousands at Mason Temple COGIC in Memphis, TN to commemorate what would be Dr. King’s final and prophetic Mountaintop speech. It was such a moving experience!

As we reflect on this historic day, let us remember the life Dr. King lived. He was selfless and willing to put his life on the line for the sake of others. He lived every day with intention. King knew his purpose, and fulfilled it.

Each of us has a God-given purpose to fulfill. Live every day with intention. Ask the Lord to show you the way you should take so you can reach the zenith of your life here on earth.

Though Dr. King’s time on earth was cut short, his name and legacy lives on! His heroic story is yet speaking and encouraging millions around the world. Fifty years later, as we continue fighting for justice and racial equality, let us-as Martin, strive to live life on purpose. Let’s serve our fellow brothers and sisters; walking in unity and loving unconditionally!

God bless you!

  1. Awesome Evangelist Rodgers. I think all of us as youth & children on that era remembers. I remember living in New York, my mother crying as the rioting & looting got worse, her fear for our safety.. I hope to know that type of fear again.
