The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19 NIV
Are you ready for Spring? I know many of you; particularly those in the northern and eastern parts of the United States have been bombarded with snow and winter storms. Take heart! Spring is on the horizon and we can breathe a collective sigh of relief and joy. Who doesn’t anticipate warmer temperatures and take delight in the sight of the explosion of color afforded by budding blooms?
With the onset Spring, the grayness of Winter fades away. We are surrounded by the glorious, literal manifestations of newness of life on both the natural and spiritual levels. In the natural realm, everything is fresh and green. We are more prone to venture out of our homes. Slowly but surely we shed the cocoons once provided by winter clothes, and look forward to engaging in outdoor activities. Finally – we can go outside and have fun!
And just think about this: In addition to Spring, this month we will also celebrate Easter. How wonderful it is to commemorate the resurrection of the One who gives those who receive Him as Savior a spiritual rebirth that ensures “old things are passed away, and all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are able to walk in newness of life here on earth (Romans 6:4) and just as God raised Jesus from the dead, He also causes us to sit in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 2:6).
Saints, we can rejoice, because the time of renewal is upon us! Indeed, the Sovereign Lord is our strength; he makes our feet like the feet of a deer, he enables us to tread on the heights. Are you ready to soar in prayer, in strength, in gladness?
